Grovetoberfest-Miami's Beer Festival

Many of us less fortunate people don’t get to take summer-long vacations where we meet naive tourists like Sandy.   We don’t get to frolic in the surf day after day singing show tunes.  For the majority of us summer just means extra humid days and hot summer nights. (Yes, that’s another Grease reference.) To think of it, the only bright spot is that school is out and traffic is just bearable. Oh wait; there is another sometimes overlooked bright spot: summer seasonals.  This is the time of the year where the breweries take to the lighter side of things and brew inspired beer to help combat this oppressive heat. So taste, enjoy and remember summer lovin’ happens fast so get your summer seasonal beer before your summer dreams are ripped at the seams.

I get blamed sometimes for working our creative team too hard. For example, last week I did not let them eat lunch or go to the bathroom until they came up with a creative t-shirt design. I did let them drink water though. After 14 hours of hard work and countless revisions, they finally came up with a design I approved and hence “pour’n star” was born. They came through and only one of them wet their pants. A lot better than the last time we tried this stunt. Apparently our creative team has a limit of one good idea per week

My loving wife decides to surprise me with tickets to a play as a Valentine’s gift. Needless to say, this alone would not immediately revoke my man card, but it is close.  When I start thinking about it, “West Side Story” is not a play, but a musical. On the Ricky Martin sweetness scale, a musical is about a 9

I know that every man wages this battle one-on-one in his own home and most of the time, defeat is the result.  But this weekend I got to spend some time with an MIT professor who helped me formulate a solid strategy to winning this war. If you are a woman, stop reading now. Please.
